Back from Matladih...Tilka Majhi Utsav to commemorate his birth anniversary, who led an insurgency against the British & succeeded in exterminating British army chief - Augustus Klioland, as early as the 1780's long before the sepoy mutiny.

ReplyDeleteWe know so little of our history... I for one wasn't aware of Tilka Majhi. The contribution of tribal people to the struggle for independence has not received as much attention as that of their "non tribal" compatriots...
